India United to Tackle Global Challenges— Focus On Swadeshi and Atmanirbhar Bharat

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, while addressing the 56th EEPC India National Awards, emphasized that no matter how big the global crisis may be, India stands united as a nation with the strength to overcome every Global challenge. He highlighted that this resilience is rooted in Swadeshi values and the collective vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. According to him, building self-reliance through local industries and indigenous capabilities ensures that India’s growth continues without being dependent on unpredictable global circumstances. By embracing Swadeshi production and supporting Atmanirbhar Bharat, the country can secure long-term financial stability and global competitiveness.

The Minister further cautioned that in today’s volatile world, marked by Global challenges, any nation may suddenly impose export controls or restrict the supply of critical products, which can create hurdles for Indian businesses. To safeguard against such vulnerabilities, he called for greater reliance on Swadeshi products and a stronger push toward Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said this is not just a choice but a necessity for India’s future security. By focusing on local innovation, manufacturing, and technology, businesses can ensure that India remains protected and resilient, no matter what global disruptions arise. Thus, Swadeshi industries and Atmanirbhar Bharat must form the foundation of India’s economic journey.

Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address, Goyal stressed the importance of the clarion call for Swadeshi goods and innovation. He urged India’s 1.4 billion citizens, entrepreneurs, and traders to prioritize Made in India products. He noted that businesses dependent on imports should actively seek alternatives that can be developed within India, thereby strengthening Swadeshi industries and reducing vulnerabilities amid global challenges. By adopting this path, the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat can become a reality, as both consumers and producers align to promote domestic manufacturing and indigenous innovation.

The occasion was also graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, who underlined the achievements of India’s engineering exports. She observed how these exports have significantly strengthened the nation’s economy and raised India’s global stature. Goyal added that these advancements have been possible only because of the dedication of industries rooted in Swadeshi traditions while also contributing to Atmanirbhar Bharat. He explained that India’s exporters have shown the world that indigenous talent, backed by modern technology, can compete at the highest levels, demonstrating the strength of Swadeshi innovation within the framework of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Highlighting the contribution of MSMEs, Goyal said they form the backbone of Indian trade and industry. He noted that MSMEs embody the principles of Swadeshi by producing locally and supporting jobs across the country, while also driving the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He recalled that in 1955, India’s exports stood at a modest USD 10 million, while today they have reached USD 116 billion. This journey, he explained, is a testament to the enduring power of Swadeshi industries and the determination to achieve Atmanirbhar Bharat through continuous growth and innovation.

The Minister also underlined India’s global reputation as a trusted partner built on quality and sustainability. He said that under the motto of “Zero Defect, Zero Effect,” industries must ensure Swadeshi products meet the highest global standards. By aligning quality with environmental responsibility, India has proven that Atmanirbhar Bharat is not only about economic independence but also about global leadership in sustainability. He pointed out that India ranks among the top three countries in global environmental commitments, demonstrating how Swadeshi values and Atmanirbhar Bharat can guide inclusive and sustainable development.

Concluding his remarks, Goyal praised India’s economic transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the nation has risen from being counted among the fragile five economies to standing proudly in the top five economies worldwide. With 7.8 percent GDP growth in the last quarter, India is now the fastest-growing major economy, proving that Swadeshi industries and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat have become the twin pillars of India’s success. He expressed confidence that with unity, determination, and a commitment to Swadeshi and Atmanirbhar Bharat, India will continue to achieve greater milestones on the global stage.
