BAA selected its First Governing Body through Open Elections

BAA selected its First Governing Body through Open Elections

With the support from Leading buying agencies and Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts, The Buying Agents Association (BAA) came into existence which has declared its first governing body.

The body formally constituted in 2016 and held its first open elections last week. The association nominated Christine E. Rai as its chairperson, Lokesh Parashar of ADK India LLC, Sumit Chabbra of Creative Concepts and Vishal Dhingra of Speciality Merchandising have been nominated as Vice Chairmen of BAA.

Anchal Kansal of Indsource International was nominated to the post of General Secretary along with Ajay Abrol of UA Consultants as Joint Secretary.

The BAA Governing Body members includes Manoj Rana of RMS Associates, Mandira Malik of Something Else, Michael Vinod of Made in India Sourcing, Nitin Mohan of Triburg, Deepak Joshi of MLine and Pushkar Chitravanshi of the Sun Corporation.

It was formed to take-up various trade issues of the sector with the centre and also at various forums. BAA’s aim is to support the growth of the export industry in the country and create a positive working environment for the international buyers. Conducting training and capacity building workshop, seminars, conferences are among the major responsibilities performed by the BAA.
