Gujarati Textiles On Display At Crafts Mela

Crafts MelaExquisite handicrafts and attractive fabrics of Gujarat besides other alluring utility items are put on display at “Gujarat Crafts Mela” organised by Kalakshetra at the Kavita Mandram in Thanjavur. The fair will continue till September Six.

The unique Gujarati textiles and fabrics carrying the trade mark bold and bright colouring patterns on splendid texture are eye catchers in the fair. The fantastic tie and dye varieties defy age and season to remain fashionable even now.

Odisha’s famed ‘Ikat’ variety sarees, Tassar, pure silk, silk cotton and cotton sarees add lustre to the expo for their design and patterns.
Also on sale are Odisha Konark wheel design sarees, Sambalpuri, Bomkai, Culki, Sonpuri sarees that are characteristically vibrant in all hues.

Wide-display of Gujarati Bandini materials, printed handloom collections, Benares tops, Meenakari jewellery, Jaipur stones and metal jewellery, glass marble bangles, Saharanpur wooden article collections, Chennapatna toys, Jaipur bed spreads and slippers made the show a total success.

At the craft mela, handloom items are offered a special discount of 20 per cent and the handicrafts a rebate of 10 per cent.
