Textile, handicrafts sector to boost by Odisha Govt

Technical textile market to touch $23 bn by 2020

Textile commissioner Kavita Gupta has informed, “India’s technical textile market is expected to grow at 12 per cent per annum to reach 23 billion US Dollar by 2020 from billion US Dollar at present,” recently at the 7th edition of three-day Techtextil India 2017 symposium in Mumbai. Textiles minister Smriti Irani has informed the lower house of parliament recently that 682 textile mills closed as on June end this year, 232 were in Tamil Nadu, 85 in Maharashtra, 60 in Uttar Pradesh and 42 in Haryana.
