Surajkund International Crafts Mela Begins

About 23 countries with China and Japan being the two focus nations are participating in the 30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, began at Faridabad in Haryana yesterday.

Organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority in collaboration with union textile ministry, the five-day event showcases some of the most exquisite handlooms and handicrafts of India. Handmade fabrics soaked in ethnic colours make an eye catching display for the visitors.

Telangana will be the theme state this year, which is showcasing its unique culture and rich heritage and about 300 artistes from the state will perform different folk arts.

This year, visitors can relish mouth-watering cuisines including authentic flavours of Telangana, Haryana and Punjab, with Indian street food and other state specialties at the Food Court.
